Park First, Then the Swamp
Zam's ecological park
Start by walking the park. It's full of alligators, snapping turtles, nutria and more, and your guide knows every one of them.
Hold a baby gator
Get up close with the animals in the park and hold a baby alligator. Bring your camera. Nobody back home will believe you otherwise.
Out on Bayou Boeuf
Board the covered pontoon boat for an hour or more on the water. Cypress trees, hanging moss, egrets and herons line the way. Your guide calls the gators with a baby-gator sound, and they swim right up to the boat.
Stories you'll retell
Guests say the guides are walking, talking encyclopedias of all things Cajun and all things bayou. Expect to laugh.
What to Bring
Drinks & snacks
Past guests recommend a small cooler with drinks and snacks. The boat is covered, so you'll have shade.
A charged phone
You'll want photos of you holding a gator. Trust us.
Your whole crew
Kids, grandparents, out-of-town cousins. The swamp's got room.
Tour Questions
Do I need a reservation?
Yes. Every tour must be reserved ahead of time. Send a booking request or call (985) 633-7881.
What time do tours leave?
Tours leave every day at 1:30 PM. We're open 7 days a week.
How much does it cost?

Can I really hold an alligator?
You sure can. Holding a baby alligator is part of the tour, and it's the photo everybody wants.
Is the tour good for kids?
Absolutely. Families are some of our favorite guests, and kids under 12 get a reduced ticket price.
What kind of boat is it?
A covered pontoon boat, so you get shade and a smooth ride. It's not an airboat, which means you can actually hear the stories.
How long is the tour?
Guests usually spend an hour or more on the water, plus time in the park before you board. Ask when you book if you're on a tight schedule.
Parlez-vous français?
Oui! French-speaking guides are available. Just ask when you call to book.
How do I pay?
We're not cash only. Ask about payment when you book and we'll get you squared away.
Where do we meet?
At Zam's, 141 Kraemer Bayou Rd, Thibodaux, LA 70301. See directions.
