Zam's Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter bunny hides eggs right along the tour route. Kids hunt, gators watch. It's become a bayou tradition.
Watch for dates on FacebookThree generations of one Cajun family have shared Bayou Boeuf with visitors at Zam's, one of the first swamp tours in the area. Start face to face with alligators, snapping turtles and nutria in Zam's ecological park, then ride deep into the swamp with an unapologetically Cajun guide. Tours leave every day at 1:30 PM.
Board the covered pontoon for an hour or more on Bayou Boeuf, past cypress, moss and gators.
Your afternoon starts in Zam's ecological park, home to alligators, turtles and nutria.
Yes, really. Get hands-on with a live gator and take home the photo to prove it.
Louisiana's most famous swamp rodent, up close and always hungry for a carrot.
Watch ZZ work with gators the way only a seasoned nuisance-gator hunter can.
Bring the family reunion, the scout troop or the whole class out to the bayou.

“Everybody calls me ZZ.”
Zamariah “ZZ” Loupe is the grandson of Zam herself, and he comes from a long line of Bayou Boeuf alligator hunters. He's the swamp tour captain, the storyteller and the guy who'll hand you a gator. You'll leave knowing more about Cajun life on the bayou than you ever expected.
The bayou has some residents you won't forget. Come say hey to the critters that make Zam's what it is.

ZZ rolled through Choupic as Grand Marshal of the Mardi Gras parade, scepter and all. Catch him at community events around Lafourche.
More about ZZThis was an incredible tour, full of fun, nature, Cajun culture and humor, alligators, bayou swamp lore and stories! ZZ and Emily were excellent hosts and guides...
Lots of fun stories and recommendations, they really live and breathe swamp tour and alligators. ... Highlight of your Louisiana trip, by a big margin!!
I cannot recommend this tour enough. We came to LA for culture and food and this gives culture to the max.
ZZ is a really cool tour guide, definitely an authentic experience. He makes it a memorable and entertaining experience, and seeing his alligators up close and holding the babies was the cherry on top!
The guides are hilarious and very knowledgeable about the animals of the swamp.
Came with Vanderbilt undergraduate students for a field trip, Cannot wait to come again with my family. Definitely the highlight of our visit to Southern Louisiana!
The guides were engaging, talking with all members of the tour, and even invited our 10 year old to "drive" the boat.
Our tour guide ZZ was a great story teller and taught us a lot about alligator and the Cajun people.
I had a really great time and appreciated that this place was not completely commercialized and more laid back. It was an amazing experience!
